Ballroom dancing has become such an integral part of my life. The benefits that I experience are a really fun way to complete my self-imposed daily exercise, connect with my husband and meet wonderful people through the Mequon Fred Astaire dance studio. The dance instructors that Chris and I learn from are some of my greatest supporters. When Chris and I started dancing, I admit it was a struggle. Instructors Larsen and Rochelle are really good at what they do and differentiated their teaching practices so that we were both successful. The encouragement that they provided for me has led me to dance competitions. This weekend I danced at Winter Fest, which is a Wisconsin Fred Astaire event. On Friday I danced "smooth" events, which consists of waltz, tango and foxtrot. Yes, I wore my official dance dress and had such a fun day. Thank you to Larsen and the rest of the Fred Astaire family for making a difference in my life. I hope to be able to compete as long as my health allows.
